Hey everyone, curious to get your honest take on this:

If Google completely removed the “proximity” factor from local results tomorrow… would your client still rank?

I’ve been thinking about how much we actually rely on location vs. real topical depth, authority signals, and trust-building across the web.

It made me step back and look at how well my clients’ profiles would perform if distance wasn’t part of the equation — and honestly, it’s a gut check.

How would your current strategies hold up?

If proximity was off the table, most rankings would come down to who’s actually built real topical depth and authority.

Definitely a gut check. Without proximity, only strong authority, relevance, and trust signals would stand. It’s a solid reminder to build beyond the map pack.
